Regular Exams & Hygiene

What Should I Expect?

During your regular exam, we will:

  • Check for any problems that you may not see or feel

  • Look for cavities or any other signs of tooth decay

  • Take X-rays to detect any issues that aren't visible to the naked eye, such as decay between teeth or problems below the gumline.

  • Perform a thorough teeth cleaning

Your regular exam will take about 45 minutes. Each regular exam includes a detailed teeth cleaning, in which we will clean, polish, and rinse your teeth to remove any tartar and plaque that have built up on the tooth's surface.

How Often Should I Have a Cleaning and Exam? How Can I Prepare?

Visiting our office every six months gives you the chance to talk to the doctor about any questions you may have about your oral health so we recommend bi-annual exams. Some individuals may require more frequent exams based on their unique oral health needs.

Maintaining regular dental exams and cleanings is key to preserving your oral health and preventing dental problems in the long run. Don't wait until it's too late. Schedule your dental exam and oral cancer screening with us today.

Do Dentists Conduct Oral Cancer Screenings?

Your overall oral health is our priority, so we'll conduct a thorough screening for oral cancer and other serious issues at each exam, checking for any abnormalities or changes in your mouth and surrounding areas.

Our dentists are trained to detect subtle changes in the tissues of your mouth that may indicate the presence of oral cancer. They'll carefully examine the gums, tongue, cheeks, palate, and other oral structures to ensure early detection and intervention if necessary.
