Clear Aligners
How do clear aligners work?
A detailed 3D digital scan of your teeth to map out a precise, step-by-step treatment plan.
A series of aligner trays is created from the 3D model. Each tray is designed to move your teeth incrementally over time, typically by 0.25 to 0.3 millimeters per tray.
For best results, aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day, and are typically swapped for the next set in the series every one to two weeks.
After completing the treatment, you must wear a retainer as instructed by your dental professional to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position.
What are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are transparent, removable plastic trays that are used to straighten teeth without the use of traditional metal brackets and wires. They are custom-made for each patient and designed to gradually shift teeth into their desired position.
What are the benefits of clear aligners?
Discreet appearance: The transparent plastic material makes the aligners virtually invisible, which is a major aesthetic advantage over traditional metal braces.
Convenience and comfort: The smooth, custom-fitted plastic is more comfortable than metal brackets and wires, and it is removable for eating, brushing, and flossing.
Improved oral hygiene: Removability makes it easier to brush and floss effectively, reducing the risk of plaque buildup, cavities, and gum disease.
Fewer dietary restrictions: Unlike braces, there are no restrictions on eating hard, sticky, or chewy foods because you remove the aligners during meals.
Shorter treatment time: For mild to moderate cases, clear aligner therapy can have a shorter treatment duration compared to traditional braces.
Fewer dental appointments: Aligner treatment generally requires less frequent in-office visits than traditional braces.
